Globe Valves: Maintenance, Applications and Uses

Image
What is a Globe Valve? Globe valves (GV) are mostly in-demand in various Industries. A common use of Globe Valve is to control the flow of fluid in a pipeline and adjust the Gaps between the Globe Shaped Plug and the Ring Seat. It consists of a movable disk-type element and a ring seat in a spherical body. When Compared to other Valves, Globe Valve doesn’t Leak Much because of the Right Contact between the Disc and the Ring. The Disc available on a globe valve can be removed from a flow path. Globe Valves opening and closing is done by an actuator because the plug of a globe valve is connected to a stem that is operated by a screw. Basically, Globe valves are designed with a stem that can move up and down to regulate the flow inside the valve. Seats of this valve are designed in a plane parallel or inclined to the line of the flow. These types of valves are most commonly used to throttle, open or close flow in a piping system. TRUNNION MOUNTED BALL VALVE

What is Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve? The  trunnion ball valve  is a form of quarter-turn valve which uses a hollow, perforated and fixed/supported ball to control flow through it. The trunnion is available for all sizes and for all pressure classes but they are not suitable for throttling purposes. Trunnion mounted ball valves , uses a spring mechanism or line pressure assistance to drive the upstream seat against the stationary ball. The surface area exposed to the pressure through the relatively small passageway is actually just the back of the seat.   Trunnion ball valve is fixed, as it does not move with medium pressure. Trunnion ball valve has floating seats. The seats of this valves move with medium pressure to tight the ball and seal ring to ensure sealing reliability. This is widely used in valves with high pressure and big sizes Trunnion ball valve features the front ball sealing design structure. How Does it Works? The trunnion mounted valves stem abs

Introduction to Butterfly Valves

Butterfly valve is used in fluid flow systems to regulate fluid flow. The operation of this valve is similar to that of “ball valve” which used for quick shut off. Butterfly valve consists of a disc which is positioned at the center of a pipe. A rod passes through the disc is connected to an actuator on the outside of the valve. The disc can be turned either parallel or perpendicular to the flow by rotating the actuator and thus regulate the flow. The valve can be fully open or close by rotating the disc quarter turn, hence it is classified as quarter-turn valve. Butterfly valves are generally favored because of its lightweight and low cost. Butterfly valves are commonly used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries to interrupt product flow with in the process. Butterfly valves replaced ball valves in the petroleum industry due to its low cost and waste of install action. Advantages of Butterfly Valves: 1.     They are small and Operate (i.e. open & cl
